      1) ask a professional educator for some tips in her problem
      2) books, ideas, lesson plan, opinions
      3) I will tell her to:
a: ask the students what they want their teacher to be

Adequate funds will be provided by local, state and federal sources to ensure that the total school environment supports the development of healthy eating patterns. 3. These lunch periods will be scheduled as near the middle of the school day as possible.6. Schools will provide enough serving areas to ensure student access to school meals with a minimum of wait time. 7. Space that is adequate to accommodate all students and pleasant surroundings that reflect the value of the social aspects of eating will be provided.8. Here’s a humorous try:

A mysterious, shadowy group wrote “Prescription for Change: Ten Keys to Promote Healthy Eating in Schools” on a dark and stormy night. Their prescription is 1. Everyone who has heard of a given school will be involved in assessing the school’s eating environment, developing a shared vision and an action plan to achieve it. 2. Every level of government will provide adequate funds to ensure that the total school environment supports the development of healthy eating patterns. 3. Behavior-focused nutrition education will be taught in every grade level. Staff who provide nutrition education will have appropriate training. 4. School meals will meet the USDA nutrition standards as well as provide sufficient choices, including new foods and foods prepared in new ways, to meet the taste preferences of diverse student populations. 5. All students will have designated lunch periods of sufficient length to enjoy eating healthy foods with friends. These lunch periods will be scheduled at lunchtime. 6. Schools will provide enough serving areas to ensure students get their food fast. 7. Enough space to accommodate all students and pleasant surroundings will be provided. 8. Students, teachers and community volunteers who practice healthy eating will be given tables where everyone can watch them eat. 9. If foods are sold in addition to National School Lunch Program meals, they will be from the five major food groups of the Food Guide Pyramid. 10. If other foods in addition to the National School Lunch Program meals are sold, it will be based on nutrition goals, not to make a profit.

      1. The first place she should look for help is her colleagues. She can ask a more experienced teacher to act as her mentor. My mentor would regularly observe my classroom and provide excellent insights and suggestions for my teaching. Most departments also have a head that help train teachers and provide support. Networking with other teachers on the web is also a new and innovative way for teachers to share ideas and provide support.

      2. There are a number of teacher blogs out there that provide valuable insight from many master teachers. You can get to these kinds of blogs through Education-based magazines that are available free online. teachermagazine.org and edweek.org are two great sites to visit. Most school systems also provide a number of teacher inservice opportunities that allow teachers to either travel to conferences or bring guest speakers. Many school systems also provide tuition assistance for teachers who wish to take courses at university in their field.

      3. I would start by finding a mentor teacher. Look for someone you already have a relationship with or someone you know you can trust and respect. If that type of person does not exist, work with a teacher from another department or even an administrator. Accountability is the key to good and effective improvement.

You can go to Mychal Wynns’s website at rspublishing.com. Mr. Wynn is an expert in such matters. He has written nuumerous books on the subject of education.

      Mychal Wynn:
Mychal Wynn is one of the world’s premiere authorities on Black male achievement, school improvement planning, closing the achievement gap, and college planning.
A first generation college graduate, he and his wife created a college-bound plan that resulted in their older son’s acceptance into Amherst College, the country’s top-ranked liberal arts college. Their 14-year-old son is working his plan to be accepted into his top-choice schools, “Yale, Morehouse, and MIT.”

While there are no guarantees, armed with the right plan, top-ranked colleges are within the reach of any student.

  5. Sathyaprakash D says:

Do you think we need one more body to regularize education by Private Institutions ?
With reference to Mr.Yechuri’s call for new body to regulate private educational institutions, he further identifies four areas of concern namely, reservation for backward and weaker sections, fee structure, teachers’ salary and common syllabus. He aims equity, quantity and quality. Students’ fees and staff salary are worked out based on infrastructure built up in private institutions. Fees and salary in Government sector does not take into account the infrastructure cost which is separately siphoned out from the taxpayer. Hence equity is not advisable. Now as of reservation to any section of students it must be equated to their competency only. I have witnessed many incidences of wastage of reservations to incompetent students leading to their enjoyment of scholarships for two years and discontinuing their studies. This way quality cannot be safeguarded. Here again the private institutions who sweated out their infrastructure development should not be forced to absorb reserved sections thus spoiling their quality also. Now the standardization of syllabus is totally next to impossibility. UGC and Government Universities, to ease out their role in course formulation and academic responsibilities encourage autonomous status and deemed University status, to many institutions which are not even fit to run under regular Government Universities. Already we have many bodies having no clear cut vision to control these institutions and formulating a new body would be only colossal waste and unnecessary burden on the educators.

The problem is with the Government and the solution is also with them.

The primary duty of any Government is to provide Education, Health care and finally Food and Shelter for all. If the government can not provide these things, the tax you pay has no meaning. Hell with the roads highways and airports.

In our schooling days, the next Government school was 10 Km away. Same is the case with Hospitals. At that time the Christian Missions came forward to build Schools and Hospitals here and there with service and charity motives. Those schools were the only hope at that time. No one dared to start private schools for several decades until recently mushroom growth of schools and other legal and illegal institutions.

In-spite of all there things, the number of Government schools remain the same.

No one has ever seen any new govt schools coming up. But many old schools closed due to building collapse.

Blame yourself. It is simple to change the situation. Make a rule :
” All Government staff should send their children to government school only” The situation automatically will change. There will be a need for thousands of schools. The standard of schools will improve instantly. The Govt schools will get focus and attention. The collectors children and peon’s children will get the same standards of education. All private schools will perish.
