What are some good summer business seminars/programs?
I am an undergraduate business student. I am looking for something to do in May 2008 to early June 2008. I am looking for possibly a 1 month internship, any seminar or business class, or volunteer opportunities. I am trying to figure out what I want to do for a career, maybe consulting or I-banking, so it could pertain to those. Also, i am in the New York area, but willing to travel for some programs. Any help finding anything would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Good advice for small Business seminars?
I am going to a small Business seminar in Denver in a few weeks, i have been speaking at these seminars for years but i seem a bit anxious right now so what is some good advice to stop the butterflies in my stomach.
Get to the event early. Try deep breathing exercises and/or meditation for 15 minutes about a half hour prior to the start of the seminar. Or try eating a couple of chocolate mints. Anyone can get nervous speaking before a crowd. You’re not alone.

How to promote new professional seminars to business owners?
Do you have experience (or know someone with experience) conducting seminars? I am planning professional seminars for 2011 and would like to learn any or all of the following:
1. How did you promote/advertise your seminar?
2. How many people attended your seminar?
3. What price did the attendees pay?
4. How many people saw your advertising (mailing list size, etc)?
I am wondering if my assumptions are solid.
My seminars will educate SMB owners about internet marketing, SEO, web site conversion, content development, keyword research, and defining marketing strengths.
Many junior colleges have established a network of small business consulting centers. I worked my way into their network of seminar presenters and now they do much of my advertising for me. I simply work with them to determine the topic and location and they do the work advertising for me. The prices for the attendees varies from free to $1,500 per person, depending upon the event.
I stopped almost all other marketing efforts as for me, this is the perfect fit.
My advice would be to check with your local colleges and work your way into their network of seminar facilitators.
