    Senior Citizen Self-Designed Retirement Home?
If you had the chance to help design a new group home for the over-50 set, with minimal medical, but still a safe place, what would you like to add to the house? Assuming we have a nice kitchen and other basics, for our age group, what would be great?

Garage for you guys to do your car work in? Small dance floor for parties? How about a garden (ok, that’s for me!) And a sun roof, definately eco-friendly too.

um, keep it clean – we don’t want the kids to see!
    These are so GREAT!!

hmmm, First off, attention to details would be important to me. Are the plumbing fixtures easy to use, door knobs easy to operate. Are the halls and walkways wide and free from clutter? Are there adequate handrails? Are the storage spaces easy to reach? Are smoke, fire, and carbon monoxide detectors well placed and operational? Are the floors level, and free of hazards like uneven surfaces or edges of rugs? Is it easy to maneuver in the bathrooms?

I love your idea for a garden; how about adding some garden furniture and places to hangout in the garden-garden paths, tables and chairs, lights, maybe even a gazebo or covered porch/patio.

Internet access; maybe a router so several people could do email or surf the internet at once.

A combination game room, library, music room. A room with tables and chairs, where people could congregate to play games, share books and magazines, and maybe sing or play musical instruments or listen to cds.

A combination crafting and workshop space. Include benches, tables, cabinets, easals, and maybe even display shelves. Good overhead and task lighting.

Your ideas seem like fun, good luck!

My friend is obsessed over this guy! Help!?
Okay, my friend Jilli really likes this guy AJ. A little too much. She has this delusion that he likes her back, even though he has a girlfriend. Jilli thinks that he is “Eward before he knew he loved Bella.” She wrote a poem about him, the main characters were horses, and it was really creepy. She also draws pictures of him and her. He’s usually shirtless, and it looks like as if she has jumped on him, wrapped her legs around him, and kissing madly. She even asked my opinion on both the poem and drawings, and I had to lie. When we also went to see Twilight, she said after the movie tha Edward reminded her of AJ when he was playing the piano (he plays the piano) and when he was kissing Bella in her bedroom. I do NOT want to know the fantasies she has about him.
She has this problem where she gets moody a lot. Jilli could be around all her friends, then they could stop talking to her for five seconds, the she’d start crying, thinking everyone thinks she’s invisible. I don’t think she knows I know, because her mom told me during one of her super mood swings where she locked herself in her room.
But anyway, back to the AJ situation, we had a paper to write to our senior selves in English, and one paragraph was about what would we be like in ten years. She said, specifically, that she would marry AJ and that they would have six kids. yeah, her mom made her erase it because she said it was “creepy.” I completely agree!
Me and my friend Brittany are completely scared of what she’ll think of next. I really have no idea what to do, and I usually have some idea of what to do. I actually fear for AJ, because she’s insane! I want to help her (and him if this gets worse) but I don’t know what to do! Please help!

    Luv,
    Captain Hawksbill

P.S I’m sorry for the length, but I’m worried for both of them.
He does know that she likes him, but I don’t think he knows the extent of her obsession. Yes, I scared for him.

what you said about her moodiness makes her sound like she has bipolar disorder. i had a friend with bipolar disorder once and (i don’t know if its a coincident or not) but she would get really obsessed over guys and be really creepy and annoying. she was too much to handle and got on my nerves soo much that i just broke our friendship off and stopped hanging out and talking to her. just like that. this was like four years ago and i think she still has a grudge against me, but i don’t care she was SO ANNOYING! and i’m sure your friend will give up on AJ sooner or later and move on to her next victim.

Why is my self worth so low?
I am a high school senior and my self esteem has been pretty low my whole life idk why. I think I don’t have any real friends and that the people who are nice to me are either doing it out of sympathy or laughing at me behind my back. I won a pretty big award for playing varsity football it is only awarded to one person on the whole squad and when they announced my name I thought since they knew I would n’t play at the next level they gave it to me they felt sorry for and not for the three years of not missing a single practice or lifting sesion. I am starting college in the fall and I am sick of feeling like this. So I want to know what could have caused this and how can I increase my self esteem and I know exercising helps and I do it 6 days a week

Let’s think about this eric. Why DO you feel this way? Perhaps it’s because you don’t respect others, including your parents. Perhaps it’s because you seem to think you’re above everyone else. Everyone receives awards in their lifetime. Why do you feel as though this one award is your ticket to friends and success?

Have you ever considered how hard your father works, the opportunities he provided you with, the amazing things he bought you, the support and love he unconditionally gave you and yet in response you made choices that were appauling. You ask questions about pre-med and talk about becoming a doctor and yet you haven’t been accepted to a single college. Do you realize what an insult this is to him?? You talk about yourself as though you’re THE only person to play sports, go to high school, switch schools, or have problems- welcome to life Eric; we’ve all been there. Each individual in life travels on their own path with ups and downs, good times and bad. It’s what you make of your life that counts, not how much you complain about it and ask for attention from others.

You aren’t going to find a girlfriend, or friends for that matter, through yahoo questions- you’re only going to be connected with others who’s goal is to wallow in their sorrows and ask for pity. If you’re interested in a scholarship, as one of your questions suggested, then why aren’t you calling colleges and asking them rather than wasting your time here? If you’d like friends, why don’t you try listening to what other people are about rather than talking about yourself? If you are interested in finding a girlfriend, why not start with respecting the women in your family first, most certainly your sister, who you treat very poorly? You’d be surprised with how much you could learn. Most importantly, why don’t you learn how to respect yourself. Do you respect the things that you have? Are you true to yourself?

There are a lot of things you need to think about. I would first suggest that you stop wasting your time on the computer and make a difference. Sure, it’s just my opinion but if I’m not mistaken the opinions and advice you’ve been following through most of your life hasn’t gotten you to where you want to be.

      good luck.

Who wants to help me BS a project?
Okay so I have to do a “senior self study” for the end of my Junior year, and there are some questions i really don’t care to answer. Make up something, anything believable. I’d be much obliged. =]

If you were given the opportunity to spend on year in service on behalf of others, how would you choose to spend that year? Explain why and what you would learn from the experience.

Tell one of the most humorous experiences you have ever had. Who was in involved? What was the outcome? did it occur spontaneously? what was learned from this experience?
I am aware that i am the only one who can TRUTHFULLY answer these questions, but my teacher won’t know any different.

      First question:
If i had the oppurtunity to spend one year in service I would volunteer at different events my school was holding so that i could give back what they had given me for all the years i was in school and help all of the children growing up and so open to learning that volunteering is good.
