Self Defense for you and your Dog Against a Knife Attack!
Author: John Roberts-James
Don’t let your dog get stabbed if you are attacked by a Mugger waving a knife. However heroic he might be in trying to defend you, a mugger has to only give one slash – and your dog is dead. His throat cut. Blood pouring over your feet. Not good, not good at all.
And the problem is, you must expect every mugger to be armed with a knife or a gun.
The gun is not the trouble – either he shoots you or he doesn’t. Simple.
The knife is a different, nasty proposition. You don’t know what he’s going to do. He may not necessarily intend to kill you, But a warning slash to your wrist will surely do just that. Split artery – Finish!
Your dog doesn’t matter – to the mugger. It can be a noisy barking distraction likely to attract witnesses. It is vital that it be silenced pretty damn quick. A quick stab, a slicing slash, that’s all it takes. And your lifelong friend is dead. Make no mistake about that. There, in front of you.
And do not expect onlookers to foolishly come to your defence. Why should they have their throats cut for your pains? It doesn’t make sense. If you are being mugged, that is your lookout. You should have taken more care, you should have been more alert, you should not be in that particular place at that particular moment.
In these troubled times you must EXPECT to sometime be facing a mugger armed with a razor sharp knife.
What you must do:
1 Be ever on the alert.
2 Try to have your dog “STAY” while you move several steps away for his safety.
3 Carry a [ legal ] weapon which is more effective than a knife.
4 Determine that you are actually being mugged.
5 Use your weapon and demolish him.
What [ legal ] weapon do I recommend? What [ legal ] weapon do I myself ALWAYS carry when walking my bull terrier? What [ legal ] weapon can effectively defeat a knife attack?
The Sjambok, of course!

help help help how do i self train my dogs!!!?
i need help training my dogs and fast they pee all over the house right after theyve been outside and they chew on everything i was also want to learn how to get them to sit, lay down shake paws, and stuf like that.
Thanks for ansering!!!
do some research…the internet..books…trainers..if u stay at home all the time…watch your dogs and see when they are about to use the bathroom…if they start to sniff around in a particular area then they are more than likely about to use the bathroom…thats when you tell them that is time to go outside and take them outside…or if u have a fenced in backyard..install a doggie door and teach them to use it to go outside
dog training please help.?
do you need any training your self to train a dog? i noticed i’m very good at training dogs and teaching them obedience. even older dogs. so do you need a degree or anything to train dogs?
i’ve even taught my dog silent commands. i will open my hand for speak and all kinds of things and i would love to teach dogs for the deaf so they can use hand signals, my dog know sit, stay, come, up, lay down, rollover, and shake all with hand signals and commands.
of course i wouldn’t charge anyone who is deaf or handicapped i would love to train their dogs for free but i do love animals and i would love to be a dog trainer, of course i would need to make some money to buy treats to train them with and other necessaties. and some money to pay my bills. lol. so do i need any special degrees schooling or anything to become a dog trainer?
Wow you sound as if you are a natural with animals which is not a common thing. Some people d not use plain common sense and you do.If you wish to become a professional trained there are different schools or qualifications you need to obtain and it varies from country to country but since you have a head start on other you would do fine.If you are in the US check out the AKC and they will head you in the right direction.Usually what happens is people do Obedience with their dogs get to a very high qualification and then go for exams so they can be instructors.Hope you reach your goal and you obviously realize you have talent but bear in mind there are some real problem dogs around that need real professional help as they need re-training and some you can never re-train as their owners have created the problem and the dog suffers because of that.GOOD LUCK
Personnel Protection Rottweiler Dog Security Training In The UK?
Hi, I want to own a personnel protection security dog but not sure where to start looking, i am after a dog that i can socialize with people but will also attack on command, guard and protect. After many hours of searching the internet from what i can make out it takes a dog with special characteristics to take on such a roll.
Hence the reason i don’t want to buy a puppy and find out later on the it cannot achieve what i am looking for.
Buying a ready trained dog is an option however i would like to have a relationship with the dog after all it will be a big part of my life, My ideal situation would be to work along side a trainer with my new friend as i would also like to learn.
Finding a trainer that tells you what they have to offer and pricing seams to be damn near impossible.
If you are a trainer and believe you can help i am situated in the uk (east midlands) Any advice would be greatly appreciated, i have considered training the dog my self but i feel due to the danger of such training it should be left to someone who nos what they are doing.
Please note i am a responsible adult who is looking to invest in a pet as well as security and i do not intend on using an animal as a weapon of any kind.
My cousin works in security as a dog handler they are not trained to attack you must be thinking of police dogs
From what i know of protection dogs you need to get a professional to help you but unless its a police dog they should not attack people and police dogs are trained to be with 1 handler and you don’t socialize the dog with people or you end up being bitten they will bite any one apart from there handler police dogs are dangerous
My brother is a dog handler in the metropolitan police and his dog can only be handled by him
Classes as self teaching dog training?
okay, so I want to go to collage in the IL Moline area for dog training, and I have a few questions.
#1 do you know any collages in this area that do classes on dog training? if not, what kind of searches should I do to find them? what should I look for?
#2 do you know any good “self teach” curriculum that I can purchase that can help to further my goals? do you have any books to suggest?
I have already been doing allot of research and reading, and actual training, but I want to further myself, so do you have any suggestions?
you could volunteer at a shelter on the weekends. that way you can start to familiarize yourself with dog body language.
Serious dog training help! Pulling on Leash?
I have a male beagle/lab mix who is 1 year old, and I have recently took him to the vet(On Friday to be exact)…and it didn’t go so well.
He gets very excited when he sees other dogs. He started pulling really hard on the leash and barking and yelping when he couldn’t get near them. People actually thought that my dog was aggressive because of the pulling. My dog isn’t aggressive, but he does have problems with self control on the leash. I know that it’s all my fault because I haven’t been consistent with the leash training, and I’m the one to blame
. I just get so frustrated because he pulls so hard that hes actually choking himself. I’ve recently bought the gentle leader, but I want to train him self control and leash manners, but I just don’t know what to do? It was very embarrassing going to the vet because all the other dogs there were very calm. He doesn’t bite, jump, or have any other problem…it’s just the pulling! I would like to be able to walk my dog without him turning my hand purple from all the pulling.
By the way, I was wondering if you guys can give me any ideas on some games that can help my dog let out all his energy. I walk him for an hour , but it doesn’t seem to be enough. Any ideas?
Thank you !
I can’t take him swimming…..hes afraid of the water.
