Teacher Professional Development Via Online Graduate Courses For Teachers
By Vince Welsh
There are a number of options for teachers searching for online graduate courses. Online graduate courses for teachers can be used for continuing education (CEUs), in-service credit, or graduate credit. Teacher professional development via these online graduate courses can be put towards a salary increase, license recertification, or other forms of job advancement. Many universities offer online graduate courses for teachers, especially in teacher professional development.
There are a number of benefits to approaching teacher professional development through online courses. For the teachers, these courses can help them meet state requirements, they can get raises, and (most importantly!) they can learn skills and methods of teaching that they can use immediately in the classroom. For the school districts and states, online courses also have a host of advantages. Online teacher professional development allows teachers to spend less time commuting to classes and more time preparing and working in the classroom. Often online options are less expensive as well, so whether the district or the teacher is paying, money is saved. It’s easier for school districts to monitor the certification process (initially and ongoing).Through online graduate courses for teachers school districts can help their educators develop the skills necessary to excel and provide the students with the best education possible. These courses have a variety of ways to measure competence as well. Since these courses can be offered for all teachers at a school, they can even discuss the materials learned in a discussion environment if the school wants to set up a time for that. By working together, teachers still get an interactive education from online teacher professional development.
Some of the most common trouble areas that schools face in terms of teacher professional development are: 1) developing a basic framework for how to teach, 2) communication between teachers and administration about what exactly the teachers need, 3) teaching ESL students, and 4) effectively teaching students that are not the norm – underachievers, gifted students, and special education. Other topics that are often the subject of teacher professional development have to do with technology – integrating technology in the classroom, using technology to simplify grading and creating assignments, making websites for classes so that students have up to date information, and learning how to teach these students that are so immersed in technology constantly.
It should be noted that in addition to professional development, teachers can also get other graduate credit online as well as completing entire Master’s of Education programs online. There are options for just about everything. Many online programs also have agreements with local schools so that teachers have access to materials and technology that they might not already have. These agreements can be very helpful for teachers taking online courses.
If a school district is looking for a solution to teacher professional development, online graduate courses for teachers may be a very good opportunity to take advantage of. Teachers can meet state requirements and enhance their skillsets; they can also interact with other teachers in their district who are taking the same programs.

Question to professional graphic designers, advertising and online marketing people?
Hello,
I will have a job interview at a graphic design and marketing agency soon. A question. How much does it cost and How many hours does it take to develop an
1. E-catalogue for a professional company
2. a professional website for a midsize company, small agency
3. a professional newsletter…
This should also involve the development and strategy finding….
Thank you.
OK, it’s late so just a quick answer now.
I assume you’re a graphic designer, so will respond accordingly. I’m not sure if you’re interviewing for a FT job or a freelance gig; that would have been helpful to know. Anyway:
Teisha provided some very low figures. I know freelancers can do things for less than a full-service ad agency (they don’t have the overhead), but at an ad agency, there will be meetings with the client, planning meetings, then your creative director giving input, throwing some of your ideas back, then of course client changes. Putting together a newsletter could take 40 hours – but of course, it depends on whether it’s a 4-page letter of 16-page. Try to figure out how much it would take to design a page, to design the masthead, and then figure in time for client and agency meetings, as well as revisions. That should help.
Then do the same with the other projects.
Websites are very labor-intensive. I’ve never done one for under $1200 – for say 8 pages. And that was with all the material provided for me; I attended just one meeting. I’m a freelancer, but I remember agency prices. Websites are like brochures; they take at least 40 hours. Again, depends on length.
If you want to create some wiggle room for yourself about costs, you can say that once you know their hourly rate for the various functions, you could pull together a quote for them. Agencies tend to bill their clients at least $150/hr for creative.
Finally, if you’re a member of LinkedIn (or perhaps even if you’re not), you can post your question there and get dozens of responses.
Are Professional Development Credits and College Credits the same?

Best online service for resume development?
Id like to have my resume professionally developed, but I do not know of a legitimate, high quality website to use. I do not care about the cost, I just want to make sure I am using a secure and professional source.
Hi there,
I would recommend Pongo Resume. You can use their service to create your resume. They also offer a professional resume writing service where they create the resume for you. It ranges in price from $119 – $245 (most common is $155).
Good luck with your resume. Have a nice day!
Can a 13 year old get into an online school to learn game development?
well I am 13 and i am already very well with my game developing and i want to one day be a professional so i talked to my mom but she does not know…………..and i am hoping it is possible…..is there an online school for ages 13 and up that teach game developing and web designing possibly just game developing if so please tell me thanks ^^
I don’t know about an online school, but there are books on video game development for teens at bookstores and libraries. You may be able to find a summer camp or classes, try middle, high schools and community colleges. Look for Extension or non-credit classes at community colleges. Also, some community colleges will allow middle or high school students to take classes, see if there is a program that would work for you. One of my son’s friends (13 yrs old) takes a Saturday computer class where they learn game programming.
You know there are college programs in video games, right? Study hard and maybe you’ll get into one of those programs down the line and be able to set yourself up for life!

Davy Chambers
Davy, try http://qlippa.com
set up some articles in their and then invite customers to it.. Your customers then invite their friends and refer you.. It reall y really works and it’ free.
word of mouth is the best and cheapest.. The best I have seen is http://qlippa.com
If you go there and then look at the ‘Tell me how page’ they go into a lot of detail about how word of mouth marketing affects sales revenue and profitability.. Best thing is to set up your business on it, it’s free, add articles about the things you do, then invite customers to the community.. The system gives you a breakdown of your customer loyalty and gives customers a way to do word of mouth referrals for you online.. It’s cool, free, and it works.
Also, it’s a great way for a google search to find you!
