Christian Positive Thinking

Author: Allan Wilson

The Bible is constantly telling us how to think and what to think on because it is for our benefit to be thinking upon good things. Thinking upon the right things leads us to right living. Thinking about positive things leads us into living a positive life. Thinking about good things attracts good things into our life and the opposite of course is also true. This is great news for you if you are currently in a state of unhappiness because all you have to do is change your thinking to Biblical thinking to start seeing happiness in your life.

The following scripture clearly tells us where our focus should be.

Colossians 3:1-2
If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

The word seek in the concordance means:

To seek in order to find out by – thinking, meditating, reasoning or enquiring into.

It can also mean to crave and desire.

We can have a much better life if we are thinking about the better things and all good things come from above. What are you thinking about most of the time? Are you thinking about the things above or worldly things? What are you meditating on most of the time? Meditating (thinking, dwelling on) good things or bad things? When you are searching for answers where are you searching? If you are struggling with things in life there is a great hope for you. Just change your thinking. Change where you are searching and looking for answers from. You can have a better now and a better future.

Set your affection encompasses not just the thinking but your feelings as well. Your cravings and your desire should be on things above. Your opinions, your wisdom, your modesty and your perceptions should all be based on things from above.

Colossians 3:3
For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

Sometimes we find it hard to grasp how our life is hid in Christ because after all we can still see ourselves as we are.

The parable of the army tank

A soldier is a very impressive site in his army uniform and is a potent fighting force having been trained in fighting techniques and on top of that usually carries a weapon that can also kill the enemy.

However he is nothing compared to a soldier inside an army tank. The soldier inside the tank can crush through buildings, drive over obstacles and has the power to pretty much obliterate anything in his path.

A soldier outside the tank can be shot at and can be wounded but a soldier inside the tank can be shot at and not be hurt. A soldier outside the tank can be recognized but the soldier inside the tank can not be seen.

His life is hid in the tank. To the outside world all they see is the tank, they don’t see the soldier. Yet the soldier still sees himself, he still has his own thinking, he stills has his own doubts and insecurities, he can still see his own faults.

When you come to Christ your life is hid in him. You still see yourself and identify all of your weaknesses. But the outside world do not see you any more. You are not the same person any more, they don’t recognize you any more. Where is the guy who used to drink? Where is the guy who used to do all of those worldly things? They don’t see him anymore, sure you look the same but to your former acquaintances you are gone and they can only see someone different. They only see Christ – the awesome power of the tank.

My point is this is how you can see that your life is hid in Christ but you are still also you and as a result you need to take responsibility for your thinking.

Can anyone recommend some really good guided imagery/positive thinking CDs? Thanks!?

There is a whole series by Belleruth Naparstek called Health Journeys. There are over 50 titles in the series, so you can find one thats really specific to what you want. Some of them are for specific health problems, but there are ones that are just more generally for positive thinking. I sold these in the store I used to work at, and we got great feedback. You should be able to order them online, or at least order a catalogue. I can’t remember what the website is, though.

    Positive thinking?
My son just started college, he so confused and doesn’t know what he want to be and he is not studying, and when ever I want to talk to him he is telling me don’t worry about me, I wonder if anyone can introduce to me some positive thinking CD that I can recommend to him to listen.

If you can even get him to listen to it. Tell him to sit down and listen…you’re the mother and he needs to listen. Tell him that it’s OK that he doesn’t know what to do yet. Many, many students change their majors tons of times until they figure it out. It’s normal. I changed mine three times. Tell him that this feeling is normal. But, if his grades are slipping, there is more to the story than he’s telling you. I have a feeling something else is going on.

faint positive line cd 23… could it be positive??!!?
Today I got a faint positive line on an Answer HPT…. the only thing is I’m not sure whether to trust it or not!

Here’s a little background: my husband and I have been TTC #1 for nearly 2 years. We took injectables this month and for the first time ever, my cycle looked good and pretty normal. My hormone levels did what they should, I had two good sized follicles, and I know we timed everything just right.

Because of this, I haven’t been waiting as long as I know I should to take pregnancy tests. Yesterday I took an Answer HPT (with my first morning urine) and stared and stared at it for a faint line and couldn’t see anything. Today, I had to use the bathroom every 30 minutes or so, so finally cracked and took another Answer HPT in the afternoon. Today, I can see a faint, but distinct, pink line.

I had an ovidrel shot of 250 mg (approx 5000 units) on day 12 (11 days ago) and I feel like the HcG from that shot should be out of my system by now.

What do you all think?? I’m REALLY hoping this works because we already have IVF planned for January, and I’d LOVE to skip that whole production and just be pregnant!!

    Your thoughts are MUCH appreciated!
It’s not the darkness/faintness of the line that concerns me. I know that a line is a line… What I’m worried about is whether it could be the HcG from the Ovidrel shot, and not actually a sign that I’m pregnant.

When I took my pregnancy tests I had a second line barely visible. I didn’t know if I was seeing things because I wanted to or what. However, I went to the dr. for a blood test and it was positive. Even though there is a faint line, you are probably pregnant. Call your dr. and go in for a blood test. Good luck!

3rd cycle after 2nd early miscarriage … positive opk cd 24?
this is the 3rd cycle after my 2nd miscarriage. after the 1st miscarriage i ovulated about a week later and conceived again.
i ovulated after the 2nd miscarriages a little later than normal the next 2 cycles at around cd 20. my normal before was cd 17-20 but usually 18 or 19 or thereabouts.
this cycle i thought i o’d around cd 19 but now on cd24 i have + opk in the middle of the afternoon and ewcm again. my chart was iffy at best, ff was trying ot put my o day on cd19 but my thermal shift wasnt a very big shift.
is it poss/normal to have such a delayed o? i havent had an o so late in the last year to my knowledge, never beyond cd 20 and if this opk is right it would put my o at around cd25 -27.

anyone else had such long cycles after a miscarriage?

I would have to say that O is around the corner based on that CB digi opk you got earlier!! I don’t think it was the miscarriage, I would blame it all on the vitex. I was never impressed with it. I think it threw everything off this cycle, your body, the monitor, etc. I am just glad that you are O’ing, it’s about time!! Sorry that this cycle was so long and drawn out, but now you can relax as you know you are finally O’ing :) I am curious to see what the monitor says in the morning, email me and let me know. Either way, based on the +cb digi, like you said, that is just as good as a peak on the monitor :) I’ve never known the monitor to be wrong, but it is possible that after all these high days, it may not peak. We will see! Good luck and sending you loads of baby dust and ALL the baby dust in the world!!

Clomid, positive OPK CD 20 & 21, is this normal?
Okay so I took 50mg Clomid CD 3 – 7 and I have been using OPK everyday since CD 10 and I just now got a positive. Is it normal to ovulate that late with Clomid? I thought it was supposed to make you ovulate like 3 – 5 days after your last pill. And also, is it normal to get a positive two days in a row? This is my first time ever getting a positive so I’m not sure what is normal or not. I wasn’t ovulating before and my periods were so irregular so this is all new to me. Any advice would be appreciated : ) Oh, and today is CD 21 and we BD on CDs 18, 19, & 20 I plan on it today as well. I hope I really am ovulating and I this is our month! Thanks everyone and babydust to all TTC!

    • Anonymous says:

Yes, it is normal. I took it this last month, and it read that I should ovulate 5-8 days after the last pill. I didn’t ovulate until CD 18. I freaked out of course – but when I went online and read in forums of other women’s experience, I found that many ovulated even much later than I did, and had a successful pregnancy. So don’t worry.

Also, yes it is normal to get a positive two days in a row.

Baby dust your way and good luck.
