Improve your Self Awareness for Personal Growth
Author: Kevin Sinclair
Self awareness involves being conscious of who you are and how you will react in certain situations but it’s also more than that. What is Self Awareness
Self awareness is achieved by reflecting on your intentions and your actions. It is being aware of your own emotions and how to channel them in order to achieve what you want from life. So many of us re-act to life. Awareness of our selves enables us to be pro-active and therefore more in control of our life course. Self awareness stems from reflection, on trying to understand what we do and how we might do it differently to achieve greater success.
Self awareness involves self knowledge when we know ourselves we learn to trust ourselves and rely on our own judgment rather than the judgment of others.
How Do We Develop Self Awareness
One way of achieving self awareness is to take the time to think things through. So often in today’s world everything carries on at such a pace that it is much easier to say I haven’t the time or I can’t be bothered. If we stop to reflect on things we recognize that it is not time that is the problem but the way we view it and use it. The problem is that we get so caught up in the everyday happenings of our lives that we just don’t take the time to reflect.
When you reflect you look back over the happenings of your life in an attempt to discover how you have become the person you are. Unless we develop self awareness then we cannot change things and develop our full potential. Carl Rogers, who developed person centred counseling believed that everyone had within themselves the means to develop their full potential but in order to do that they had to develop a positive self concept.
We develop a positive understanding of who we are by doing things that we are happy with or successful at. Experience teaches us that when we do things that give pleasure not just to ourselves but to others then we are less stressed and happier. It makes us feel not only that what we are doing is worthwhile but that we ourselves are worthwhile. Part of self awareness is a recognition of the intrinsic value not just of ourselves but of others.
Techniques For Greater Self Awareness
We have already discussed the importance of reflection to becoming self aware but there are other things that we can do to develop this quality in ourselves. In the East there is a greater recognition of the quality of self awareness and this is often achieved through the practice of yoga and meditation. Buddhist monks for example have to learn to meditate to develop a taste for silence.
Meditation comes in many forms. Transcendental meditation, for example relies on the reciting of a mantra or sacred phrase. Christians, Muslims and Jews also recognize the benefits of meditation and contemplation and how this leads to greater self knowledge. A more recent tool in developing self awareness is cognitive therapy where we take greater control over out thinking processes and try to correct thoughts that are erroneous.
Finally, rediscover what is important to you. One way of doing this is to keep a journal. Many more people are now recognizing the benefits of journaling. Here you can record your thoughts, chart your progress and decide what you see as important. When you decide what is important in your life then you have an idea of what you value. Knowing what you value in life is a vital tool in self awareness and success. When we know what our values are, then it is much easier to chart a path in life that adds to our personal growth and happiness.
The Benefits of Self Awareness
When you become self aware you grow as a person. You develop self-acceptance and this in turn makes you more accepting of others. You become more self reliant and self motivated. These are the qualities that help you to continue growing as a person and to be successful in your chosen field.

Looking For Beginner Pagan/Wiccan Resources?
Hi there,
I’m just beginning to delve into studies of Wicca and Pagaism/Neo-Paganism, and am looking for some recommendations for books, websites, blogs, anything to help me discover my path. I’ve done a fair amount of wading around in the mass of not-so-high-quality web pages that Google has so lovingly hand-picked for me (haha), and of course found a few helpful gems among the BS, but I’m looking for something a little more concrete and substantial – a lot of what I’ve come across seems to just graze the surface, and I leave feeling unsatisfied, and sometimes more confused than when I first arrived.
I’ve been trying to narrow down the lists of recommended books I’ve come across by reading reviews and such, but some of the information out there is contradictory (I know everyone has their own opinion, but I’d like to hear from someone who, having read this, understands my position a bit more). What I am looking for is something more in-depth, less “fluffy” (as I’ve seen it called?), thought-provoking, and doesn’t have “Teen Witch” in the title (I’m all growed up now, ma!
). I’d really just like to find some quality material that will guide me along this new path, help me learn more about myself, and provide a practical basis for further studies. (Note: I’m using the word “studies” in a way that, to me, means “personal studies” for my spiritual enrichment, growth, etc., not in a detached, strictly objective/academic/research way – if that made sense.)
Anyway, thanks for listening to my ramblings and please tell me if anything needs to be clarified.
Thank you so much.
Merry Meet,
If you are interested about learning Wicca and/or Witchcraft here are a few legitimate sources to glean knowledge from. One being Witchvox at http://www.witchvox.com/. Here you will gain knowledge through fellowship with other of like mind and knowledge through the countless articles posted. If this is not enough one could look into getting online training through the Sacred Mists at http://www.workingwitches.com/wicca/cour… or OZ Wicca at http://www.ozwicca.com/ , both are pretty decent for learning the Craft on the Web.
Also if you are close enough to a group that specializes in education and development like the SCWF try and join them even if it’s on a limited capacity. Ultimately, study, study and then study some more. Find all you can and definitely cross reference whenever possible, this way you can get the best out of all you learn.
I also suggest that you get your hands on Wicca for Beginners by Thea Sabin and/or The Circle Within by Dianne Sylvan. Both of these books are very good reading and both will give you some deeper insight to the Craft and how it relates to you. Also you cannot go wrong with anything by Scott Cunningham.
If you are a teen, I suggest Elements of Witchcraft: Natural Magick for Teens by Ellen Dugan. Teen Witch by Silver Ravenwolf is also good. But neither are completely accurate, but they will help you out.
Ultimately, study as much as you need to before deciding that you are Wiccan. Find those near you who are reputable and knowledgeable. Also stay away from those who are playing Wicca if you are serious about the religion and the craft, they will only slow you down and/or mislead you.
I hope my blurp helps out.
Blessed Be

Will the Golan Heights be the location of our future leaders’ palace?
Two early Church writes thought that the AntiChrist will come from the Lost Tribe of Dan. Saint Irenaeus (2nd century AD – c. 202) and Saint Hippolytus of Rome (c. 170-c. 236)
Irenaeus fancied that the mention of “Dan,” in Jeremiah 8:16, and the omission of that name from those tribes listed in Revelation 7, might indicate the Antichrist’s tribe

The mound of the biblical city of Dan is located at the foot of Mount Hermon in the northeast of the country. The fertility of the area around Dan is mentioned in the Bible: For we have seen the Land, and behold, it is very good. (Judges 18:9)
According to Jewish law the Golan is regarded as part of Canaan which is holier than the parts east of the Jordan river. Part of the southern slopes of Mount Hermon fall within the Golan Heights, which have been under Israeli control since the Six-Day War in 1967.
The Tribe of Dan were Canaanites who worshiped Baal (the Phoenician Moloch), they were involved in a substitute worship system at Mt. Hermon that was both opposed to and removed from the true worship of God at Mount Zion in Jerusalem

The Canaanites, realized that an unhealthy obsession with the family could stand in the way of an individual’s progress on the Upward Path. Ambition and upward mobility characterized this creative and successful people. They represented their ideals in a beautifully carved sculpture they called Moloch, the god of personal growth.
Moloch is not a “god” in the sense of a being outside ourselves. Moloch is a spiritual reality within us all, the source of our inner strength and resolve. Whenever we tell the rest of the world that we’re too busy and too important to care about its petty problems, that’s the spirit of Moloch at work within us.

People have been videoed worshiping Moloch at Bohemian Grove, who’s members include all US Presidents past and present

Lotta words there man. But no , moloch just maybe a type. But biblically speaking speaking it is Satan that comes and fills the role of antichrist. The word anti in antichrist is translated by strongs as “instead of”. So satan will be here performing miracles and fooling everybody into thinking he is the real mccoy. He will be sitting in the holy temple in Jerusalem temple exalting himself over all gods and even claiming to be God / Jesus.
