I am looking for a personal development group in Sydney Australia. Anyone know a good place to look ?
I’m not looking for a 12 step program. I want a bunch of people motivated towards self development.

A great place to start looking is in a Magazine called Nova. They have ads for groups and seminars etc…

Nova is a free giveaway mag that is available at most New Age type outlets and many health food stores.

Sydney is a very happening place, I feel SURE that you can find SOMETHING to get you started.

going along to a workshop or seminar is a great first step to meeting new people with a common interest.

      I wish you luck.

I am too interested in self help
If you are in the UK try BSY group they offer great courses and qualifications on self help etc and also refer students to awarding bodies to work as professionals.

Can anyone tell me where I can find the best Personal Development courses/ programmes/ books, etc?
I’m at a point where I need to take some serious steps towards getting my life to that next level. Not really looking for a guru, just looking for a system that works or at least have proven results. Any information on this would be much appreciated!

List of good material that I know of:

Feel the fear and do it anyway by Susan Jeffers
The Magic of Thinking Big by David Schwartz
the 7 habits of successful people by Steven Covey
      Emotional Intelligence by Daniel Goleman
      Influence by Robert Cialdini
How to make friends and influence people by Dale Carnegie

I know more, but they are geared towards certain things. It would depend more on what you want the material for.

If you want to know more, post up another question or email me.

      Hope this helps

I can really recommend Life Clubs – they are weekly personal development workshops written by best-selling author and coach Nina Grunfeld. At the moment they’re run in the UK and Canada, but they’re always growing, and they’re thinking of running workshops online too. Their website is a great resource, and their Facebook page always has lots of stuff going on.
