Are International TEFL Teacher Training online courses accredited and reputable?
Hi my name is Colby and I am considering ITTT’s online TEFL certification course. I want to do it because it seems reasonably priced and it is the only TEFL certification program that does not require you to be 18 ( I am 17 ). I want this certification to learn how to teach english and I need it for my C.V. to obtain an international voluenteer position for the summer. If anyone else has used this provider please inform me regarding the quality and credibility of the program. Any relevant information is much appreciated.
TEFL courses generally are not accredited by university standards. If you plan on using the TEFL certificate for anything other than teaching English abroad, it is generally useless. However, it is great for that job teaching overseas. Some countries require a teacher to have one, other countries require more, such as a degree or even an education certificate. It is best to look at the country you desire first and see the requirements. I had a great pay raise in Korea my last year by getting a TEFL, however I was required to get a 120 hour course (ITTT is a 100 hour course… perhaps they have a 20 hour additional class to take).
Although I do not have any experience with ITTT, most TEFL classes on the internet come and go. Before you sign up, you may want to look into your local university to see if they offer an equivalent course. The credibility is much more stronger, however like said before, most are not accredited even if it is offered through a university.
What are some good online or part time courses in Mumbai for teacher training?
International curriculum would be preferable. Thank you.
