Massage Envy Spa in Branchburg, Warren and East Brunswick, New Jersey Offers Relaxation that Won’t Stress Your Wallet
How is it that wearing one’s stress and exhaustion has become a source of pride in American culture? Many of us are not only burning the candle at both ends, we’re also a little singed in the middle. But what price are we paying for allowing ourselves to remain stuck in the “on” position? In an effort to provide an affordable solution for the ever-increasing stresses of modern life, Massage Envy Spa in Branchburg, Warren and East Brunswick, New Jersey are offering a solution at prices that are less stressful to the average wallet.
In fact, it is the affordability factor that attracted owner Teri Jenkins, a life-long resident of New Jersey and former pharmaceutical data/services director of sales, to open Massage Envy Spas in her home state.
In 2005, she was seeking businesses she could invest in. While visiting her son at ASU in Arizona, Jenkins was treated to a session at one of the first Massage Envy Spa locations. Not only was she impressed with the experience, when she discovered the session cost less than half the average rate, she called her husband immediately to tell him that she had found the right business to invest in.
Within 18 months, she and her husband launched three clinics, one in Branchburg, Warren and East Brunswick, New Jersey. “We chose Somerset/Middlesex Counties because the interest in health and fitness is strong here,” said Jenkins, who takes great pride in the environment she has created for her customers.
While the average hour-long massage session can cost between and 5 at many salons and spas, an hour massage session costs only per month at Massage Envy Spa, based on a 12-month membership. An introductory hour-long massage session is offered at , and an introductory Murad Signature facial is only .
Client Deborah Ryan-Pellatier, a resident of Bedminster, said she works very long hours and is a firm believer in the therapeutic benefits of massage. “I’ve been going for massage therapy for over 20 years, but usually only four times a year, because it was pricey. Now at these rates, I can afford to go every month, even twice a month and I love it,” she said.
Upon entering Massage Envy Spa, you feel yourself beginning to relax as you step into a soothing and nurturing environment decorated in soft colors and ensconced in the waves of restful music.
Cathy Callahan, a resident of Branchburg, works in legal administration and as a dance teacher at Broadway Bound Dance Center in Lebanon. Callahan, who considers herself “pretty hyper,” said she strongly recommends massage therapy to friends and family.
“If I had the time, I’d go once a week,” said Callahan, who is also involved in volunteer work in addition to her legal work. “I can spend at least three hours a day alone at the computer just working on volunteer projects and I can feel the stress rising throughout my body. When I come out of a massage session at Massage Envy Spa, I’m just so relaxed. All your cares seem to just slip away.”
Massage therapist Deborah Fernandes, who has worked at the East Brunswick location for three years, received her certification at Chubb Institute.”I love my job. And our locations are great,” she said. “We always have new clients and our returning clientele are very open to trying the different modalities we offer.”
Fernandes said her clients consistently compliment the Spa about its professionalism, warmth and feeling of serentity. “We only use the highest quality creams, gels and lotions, and we have great heated massage tables, which are wonderful to try out on freezing winter nights,” said Fernandes.
Jenkins added, “Our clients love the fact that we are open seven days a week from 8a.m. to 10p.m., so we really cater to their schedules and needs. And with the addition of facials, aromatherapy and Pro Heat Pain Relief, our phones are ringing off the wall! People finally understand that massage is a necessity to their health and well-being.”
In addition to massage therapy, Massage Envy Spa also offers Murad Healthy Skin Facials, hot stone massages, aromatherapies, couples massages and Wellness Programs.
“All sorts of people enjoy our Wellness Program,” said Jenkins. “At our locations, we spend hours working with high school athletes, professional athletes high-end chefs, local television celebrities, and professional dancers. Our goal, of course, is to make everyone feel like a celebrity.”

Can a New York State Teacher Certification be used to get a job in New Jersey?
I have a NYS Certification for specia lEd. and Social studies. I live fairly close to Jersey. Can my certification be used to get a job or is there a jersy exam I need to take?
Most likely yes. NY is one of the best teaching certificates to have and is suppossed to transferable to all states, without question. http://www.alleducationschools.com/go.php?url=http://www.nj.gov/njded/educators/license/ This should help you out, or a site similar to this one.
Does having a DUI prevent you from obtaining teacher certification in New Jersey?
I have a friend who got a DUI back in Dec 05 and she’s still waiting for the appeal to see if she loses her license or not. We were wondering if having a DUI (if she loses her license) will this disqualify her from becoming a teacher in New Jersey?
If it’s a felony DUI, it will stop you from getting almost any professional certification.
Where can I find a list of colleges that offer teacher certification in New Jersey?
Go to this link and choose colleges. Then click on the drop down box for the list:

What is the starting salary for a special education teacher in New Jersey (NJ) ?
I am currently in a master in education with teacher certification and special education endorsement at Georgian Court University. I want to know if anyone knows what the starting salary of a special ed teacher in NJ is?
Comments from special ed teachers are greatly appreciated.
you can actually look up salaries on nj.com
look for the By The Numbers Section–
also NJEA has a CD with salary ranges for all districts in the state—the convention is coming up in November in Atlantic City–you can pick one up there–they may send you one…
if you are a (student) NJEA member-you may still be able toaccess it on their website
generally for public school starting is from low to mid 30s to low to mid 40s…private schools tend to be a little less
can i get a math teacher certification in new jersey without math education major, math major, or math minor?
I have finance major
You need to have at least the equivalent (usually slightly more) of a minor in the subject you plan to teach. This is due to federal requirements for No Child Left Behind. You might be able to get hired to teach on an emergency basis, but you probably don’t have exactly the right courses for regular teacher certification.
You can find specific requirements on the NJ Dept of Ed website.
