Leadership Skill Development – Proven Skill Development Ideas

Effective leadership skill development is a must if an individual wants to rise through the corporate ladder. But the thing is there’s no one ultimate list that contains all the answers. One thing’s for sure though, what works in one organization may well not work in another. That being said, this article intends to give some pointers to individuals who are focused on developing a workplace that bustles with energy and have a team that is committed and performs at peak levels. Following are good leadership skills that one must develop and hone to achieve a high performance and high energy team and workplace.
A good leader must be competent. He/she must be able to bring out the best from the rest of his/her team members. Help them to come to the realization that what they do make a difference and is meaningful. Additionally, help them to remain focused on delivering great and positive outputs to the organization and the team.
Being supportive to your team will get the best out of them. There’s no room for destructive criticism, for it will not gain any positive result from these people or their full cooperation. It is much better to make acknowledgements and praises when team members come up with good ideas and improvements. Do not make an attempt to take their glory for yourself, it is so mean and very childish and will result to killing anyone’s potential for future contribution and growth.
Learn to respect and keep confidences. Probably this is the simplest good leadership skill and the one most often abused and overlook. You have to give your people the impression that you can be trusted and that you never gossip and that you are always supportive of the team members who are not present.
You have to develop the ability to inspire your staff, this is such a rare gift and a big part of what differentiates a good from a great leader. Keep in mind that your people are your most valuable asset and if you can inspire them to greater deeds even when the going gets tough, then you will be able to enhance your own reputation quite substantially.

I’ve tried googling and searching newpapers for an article that talks about leadership and development skill but i haven’t much luck. Is there any article that talks about this subject.
I went to google, typed in ‘leadership development article’ – clicked search, and found quite a few good studies. I’m against doing peoples work for them, but I’m glad to point them in the right direction from time to time.
What is effective leadership skills development?
learning how to DO things on your own.
How can you expect to lead people when you yourself don’t know how to do ANYTHING? When you don’t know jack shiit about anything?
Can you think of a recent American president who grew up shirking his duty, playing video games, understanding nothing of the real world? What kind of a leader was THAT asswipe?

Can the development of a strong leader exist w/o christian principles?
Recently, I began a journey to develop strong leadership skills through an amazing Leadership Development Organization. While the integrity and honor emulates from the core of this organization, I am saddened to learn that the spine of the organization is judeo-christian. Every recommended read, audio, etc brings quotations from the bible.
I would love to be able to devlop these skills and help others who are agnostic as myself, to feel open to this opportunity of freedom and leadership. With a majority of caucasian christians, I feel that our potential to grow this opportunity has been suffocated. Any well-thought insight from all of you brilliant thinkers?
