    but i need a good study tool for memory, since that seems to be my trouble

      I don’t know of a book for improving your memory, but try repeating the facts, using notecards, and writing down the facts repeatedly as if you were studying for a vocabulary quiz in middle school. Repetition is a great tool for memorization.
