Business Goal Setting – How To Achieve Goals In Business

A goal is defined as the purpose toward which an endeavor is directed; an objective. Everyone has goals, whether we know it or not. While personal goals are important, another area of goals you may want to pursue is that of career goal setting. Corporate or business goal setting is also a major area of goal interest.

I’m not persuaded that this is a scientific method of research; or that results from an unscientific method would be really informative.

Who developed the “Wheel of Life” goal setting exercise?
I want to do a slide presentation on motivation and goal setting, and I want to include the “Wheel of Life” goal setting exercise. Google it; its all over the web. The only problem is, I am a serious student, and serious students ALWAYS cite their sources. However, I can’t determine who first created/introduced the wheel of life in the context of a goal/priority setting exercise. Can anybody help with this?

The wheel itself is an example of radar chart:

It seems to be simple enough and old enough not to have an author.

Its use in self-help is more recent, but since self-help gurus frequently borrow ideas from each other without giving any credit, it is hard to find out who used it first.

Any ideas out there to help me teach goal setting to 7th Graders?
I teach a class called “Citizenship and Responsibility”. It teaches about peers, family, goal setting, tobacco effects, etc. Any ideas/lesson plans/activities on any of this would be great!

I suspect Reality is Real might prefer to fill their lungs with crap instead filling their minds with facts. Although I think this previous person (and I use the term loosely) was very rude (and could possibly benefit from some citizenship and responsibility classes), I’m also a little confused about the actual focus of your class – is it about health education, relationships, sex ed or social responsibility? If you could add a little more information about the curriculum, you might generate some more helpful answers.

If I were you, I would google the keywords “citizenship” “guidance” “lesson plans” “health” etc since there is an array of resources already on the web. You should be able to find some helpful materials this way. Right now, your focus seems to be too broad to find a starting point.

I have to do a presentation on goal setting and I need a help?
The mode of presentation is my choice and the duration is 3 minutes.
I’ve decided to say a short story stressing the importance of goal setting.
would you please give me links to such websites or type out a 1 min story here.
    Thank you :)

(I actually wanted to present a 2 min video on importance of goal setting but due to lack of time I decided to do a story-telling session)

One of the best lessons I ever learned about goal-setting is to challenge yourself. If your goals are easy to achieve, they’re not worth it. Some people subscribe to the “SMART Goals” goal-setting process (Google it), but instead, I think the “HARD Goals” goals-setting process is better, because it removes the “achievable” and “realistic” requirements for your goals and instead focuses on setting goals that are truly worth attaining (even — especially really — if they’re difficult).

For an exhaustive explanation of the two approaches, Google the research report titled “Are SMART Goals Dumb?”

Reasons why goal setting is beneficial to you?
I have to list 3 reasons and support it with evidence, please help if you can. Thanks.
