3 Reasons Why Coaching For Leadership Is On the Rise
Organizations have realized that unless a leader is a good coach, the impact that he/she can have on the employees and the organization is very insignificant. The impact of coaching is on these areas:
- Employee empowerment
- Effect conflict resolution
- Succession planning
- Managing change seamlessly
Leadership coaches typically embrace the top-down philosophy – The effects of developing top level executives into leaders will trickle down to all levels in the organization.
Does coaching help to build leadership?Although this is contrary to the common notion that top level executives have already proved their capabilities, the answer is a resounding ‘YES’. It is based on one of the most important leadership principles of ‘Striving for Continuous Improvement’.
The reasons for adopting coaching in leadership are multi-fold.
My extensive experience in the field of Executive Coaching has allowed me to witness the increasing growth in the desire and aspiration for self-improvement. Global competitiveness, faster career progression and constant change are the major reasons for this rise. The work-life balance is delicately hanging by the thread and the stress on multi-tasking and team functioning is the current norm.
The three significant advantages of leadership coaching:

How are Coach K (Krzyzewski) and Coach Knight similar in communication styles, coaching, and leadership?
sorry.. i saw the two of them being interviewed about that last week, but i had to leave..
the way they coach is very similar.. seeing as how mike studied under bob..
though it’s not as pronounced and dramatic.. K also has a little temper on him…
How can one begin a football coaching career?
I am interested in pursuing a coaching career in football, I know that I have to start small but I was wondering if anyone who is involved could give me hints on how to start working with a High School Football Team and work my way up. I am 21 years old and love football but don’t have the physical abilities to play it; but I do have the mental and leadership skills to coach it.
start as an assistant to a good coach, you dont even have to do that much, its more important to sit back and watch and listen to what they do, make sure you pick a good coach, the easiest way to find an opening is to put in an application w/ the school board or talk to the coach directly
How are Coach K (Krzyzewski) and Coach Knight different in communication styles, coaching, and leadership?
I think they’re both great coaches, but Knight is more abusive and profane and more of a hothead.
Here’s a link to one of Knight’s best players, Isiah Thomas, letting everyone know just what he really learned from coach Knight.

which current NFL player do you think will someday become a great coach in the League?
Keep in mind that just because the player is good, doesnt mean that he’ll translate into a good coach.
Leadership is important.
my vote goes to: Kurt Warner, Carson Palmer, Warrick Dunn (Tony Dungy esque)
how bout you?
surpringly, I dont think Peyton will become a good NFL coach because I dont think any player will meet his standard of expectations. No QB could run the offense like he can. Plus, he’s not very fundamental.
Peyton Manning is the smartest player in the game.
He’ll be a great coach.
Does being a coach count as a leadership position?
I’ll be applying for Navy OCS within the year, and was wondering if it was appropriate to list my work as a volunteer youth soccer coach as a leadership position. While I view it as such, I have doubt as to whether the board members will view my managing a soccer team as the type of leadership position they are looking for. Thanks in advance for any input!
