Certified Life Coach – 5 Advantages Of Helping Others By Becoming A Certified Life Coach

Author: Abhishek Agarwal

Ask yourself these questions – Do you really like helping people, from the bottom of your heart? Do people often look to you for guidance and inspiration? Would you like to turn this in to a profession? If your answer is yes, you should consider getting qualified as a life coach. But before you get into that, you need to know a little more about the profession. Life coaching is a two way process where you will have to have a close emotional relation with your clients.

It is a fast growing profession in the world today, and can become a rewarding one for the right person, if you are cut out for it. If you often get impatient with people and are not a good listener, then you should look for other professional alternatives.

Going to a life coach is very much a fashionable trend in today’s world, and it sounds so much better than saying that you need therapy or psychological help, even if these fields are closely related. The latter fields seem to sound like you are a sick man if you need such help. On the other hand, going to a life coach is so much more pleasing to the ears. It is definitely a current trend, and that is why it is the right time for a coach to get into this field professionally.

There are several benefits in being a certified life coach:

1. Earning Potential. This one is limited only by the number of hours you put into work. The average charge of life coaches from US ranges from 0-0 per month and per client. So multiply your charge with the number of your clients, that’s how much you will earn in a month.

2. Promotion. Your institution can help you promote your business online, on local newspapers, and even in your own area through brochures. You may even use the institution’s logo in your website or letterhead for more credibility.

3. Recognition. Your institution can also help you have your name placed on a list of approved life coaches which will give you more work opportunities.

4. Title. If doctors of medicine have MD, lawyers Atty., and registered nurses RN, you, as a certified life coach, may use the title LC Inst or Dip LC after your name.

5. Membership. You may also become a member of life coaching organizations.

If you are still convinced that this is the profession for you, you need to work towards getting qualified to become a life coach. You may take the state exams to get certification, or you may attend one of the many universities offering training programs on how to become a life coach. In any case, you need to be professionally qualified before you can begin counseling.

Have any of you gone through Life Coach training and have you actually had any success in the business?
I’m not talking about anyone in particular. I want to know if anyone on this site has gone through the training and is having any success at it.

My name is Gal Baras and I am an active life coach, as is my wife, Ronit Baras. We got our training and life coaching accreditation in Brisbane (Australia).

We have been in business for over 3 years now and are now doing quite well, but we have met others who have been in the profession longer and are doing very well indeed, especially if they have been able to penetrate large businesses.

The best tip I can give you is to stay in your old job and move into coaching gradually. Life coaching is a referral-based system, which means that it can grow exponentially, but it usually starts very slowly. Having a job to keep you fed and sheltered means you can build your practice in peace, which also improves your ability to coach at a time when every little bit of pressure might show.

Which life coaching trainings to take to be a certified life coach?
    Hi all,
I have decided to make a career shift and work as a life coach. I was looking for an online training I can start with, but I have found many of them and don’t know on which criteria I can make my choice especially that some of them were very expensive for me as a start. So can you help me or share your experience about 1 or 2 trainings that were helpful and effective??
    Appreciate it :)
