Effective Goal Setting Skills

In business, career and personal life, effective goal setting skills are essential. Goal setters can be found in any Forbes list, rich list, high up in corporations, and winners of life. Effective goal setting skills transform lives.

People are like ships without rudders. Without a destination, they stay in port, and never see new horizons. We see these people even in our local area. These people generally will say they have been living in that area or that house since they were born. They may not go on holiday, and may likely conform to the norm. However, this is not what some want.

Even though the majority of people do indeed settle to mediocrity, we don’t. Out of 100 people interviewed at 25, and re-interviewed at 65, only 5 will achieve great things, and out of that 5 only one will achieve super success.

What makes 95% of the people to live that mediocre life? We know that about 7% of people set goals. And if we ask that 5% about what they all do, we will find that they all goal set! This makes achieving goals with a chance of 40-70% success rate. It is much better than if we don’t set goals.

The best you can do is eat healthy and stay away from foods that contain sugar. Instead of having three meals a day , have six small ones each with a protein source such as : chicken , poultry , nuts , almonds , lean beef , lean pork , eggs or fish. Accompany them with fruits or veggies , have a portion of each in every meal , a portion is about the size of a deck of cards. Also try doing a workout such as this one : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZslnSxzhJkg at least two days per week , when you do these exercises try doing them with a slow momentum , for example , 10 seconds up and 10 seconds down , this way you will stimulate better your muscle fibers and better develop lean muscle which will burn stored body fat. Make sure you rest well between workout days so your body can recover. Get plenty of water daily. You can also do some type of cardio activity if you enjoy them , just dont overdo them , everything in moderation , cardio activities include cycling , swimming , jogging or rope jumping. But remember , do them for fun , not as a necessity.

Is goal setting worth while or is it best to accept things as they are?

Set goals and pursue them. But a logical goal at times when things are going well is the maintain the status quo, i.e. keep things the way they are. Why set a goal to make things worse?
